The bulk of Werrington's housing is standard 1960s-1980s detached stock, fibro and brick-veneer on regular blocks, with newer townhouses and dual-occupancy infill closer to the station and the Great Western Highway. That mix means two very different plumbing profiles sitting a few doors apart.

Those newer builds carry less of that risk on their own account, generally, but connecting into an older shared line still matters when a blockage or a leak crosses the boundary between old and new.

The university precinct nearby adds its own texture too. A fair share of nearby rentals get harder use than an owner-occupied home would see, and fittings under regular heavy use tend to wear through faster than the manufacturer's rating suggests.
